Plans don't always go the way they are supposed to. In their case, Nick and Ashley had to overcome a LOT for this wedding to finally take place. Ashley was overseas due to her military requirements and she was trying to plan their wedding while Nick was in the U.S. Then, the sickness that shall not be named hit like a ton of bricks. Everything shut down. Travel to and from was halted and their original date had to be moved. Nonetheless, they persisted and we worked with what we had. I flew from Idaho to Nebraska and breathed a sigh of readiness when I wheeled my suitcase into the hotel room because it was GAME ON. Straight to the Bridal Suite the next morning for getting ready photos. Ring details with their old date etched into the inside. Getting into the dress with her mama helping. Then first look with her dad. Heading outside to our trolly, our driver noticed Bill Murray coming out of the hotel doors with his golf clubs and started yelling and running for him. She caught up with him and asked if he would be willing to take a photo with the bride, which he graciously agreed to. We all stood there awe struck that it was really him and then giggling uncontrollably when he came up to Ashley and had everyone bring it in for a photo op. Such a cool moment! (Thanks Bill!)
The ceremony was flawless and truly special seeing everyone come together for them both. Off we jammed in the party limo to family formals in the park where there were hills of blooming trees. What a beautiful symbol of their marriage and new life together. Party time at the reception next! I love being able to sneak the couple away. A super unique building next to ours was calling me so we walked over for a few quiet moments. A piggy back ride was in order for Ashley as Nick hoisted her up and away. Side note, I LOVE CAKE. Not sure I know many who don't but I digress. The cupcakes were the best I've ever had. Period. The perfect end to such a beautiful day.
